Steve “Rip” Ripley is currently a Master Firefighter with the Lynchburg Fire Department and previously served in the United States Marine Corps.  In addition to being a career firefighter, Steve has volunteered in the fire service with several volunteer fire departments for over 30 years.  He is assigned to Station 1, home to the Virginia Division III Technical Rescue Team, and primarily rides Truck 1.  Steve is also a Virginia State Instructor II and holds a Train the Trainer in Driver Ariel Operator.  He also enjoys teaching at many regional schools in and around Virginia, including Bedford County Truck School, Smithfield Truck School, and the Walker Sisk Truck School.  In addition to being a career firefighter, Steve has volunteered in the fire service with several volunteer fire departments for over 30 years.
